Confusion about Garbage Rules

There is apparently some confusion about when residents should put out their garbage cans/carts. Even though new garbage carts have been delivered to homes in the city's district 1, the time to put out the garbage and the time to remove carts/cans from the curb has not changed. The rules are the same for everyone in the City of Mobile.

Residents should place their carts/cans at the curb BY 6:00 a.m. to insure pick-up, and then remove them by 7:00 p.m. The city's ordinance prohibits people from leaving their carts/cans at the curb on a continuous basis. The ordinance does not say residents must put out their carts/cans at 6:00 a.m. They should continue putting out their garbage at the "usual time". Most people put out their garbage cans the night before scheduled pick-up, and they should continue.
