Come to the Celebrate Mobile Parade

Jun 10th, 2008

Thyssenkrupp Steel, the Austal expansion, Berg Steel and Northrop Grumman/EADS are all reasons why Mobile officials are planning events to celebrate the area’s economic development success.

The events will include a lively show entitled “Mobile in Motion,” performed by students from seven public schools (Blount, Davidson, Bryant, Satsuma, LeFlore, Williamson high schools, and Dunbar Middle School).

The show, which is free to the public, will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Saenger Theater.

Celebrate Mobile Parade

The festivities will continue on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. as area Mardi Gras parading groups join city officials, Azalea Trail Maids, area school bands, industry leaders and America’s Junior Miss contestants in hailing Mobile’s success in economic development.

The Parade Route: The parade will start at Canal and Claiborne and travel west on Canal. It will then turn up Washington and head east down Government. From there, it will turn north at Conception, east on St. Francis and then south on Royal. It will end by heading west on Church then south past the Civic Center on Claiborne.
