Cleanup Progress

Oct 13th, 2004

Crews are making a lot of progress collecting hurricane debris in the city of Mobile. County-wide more than 440-thousand cubic yards of debris has been collected. In the zone where city of Mobile crews are working, east of Interstate 65 and north of Airport Blvd., nearly 52-thousand cubic yards of debris has been collected. If your debris has not been picked up, please be patient. A crew will get to your home as soon as possible.

In areas where debris has already been collected the first time, residents are asked to sweep or rake up any remaining leaves, clippings or limbs. Put them in plastic bags and place them on the curb for the second collection.

Any debris still awaiting collection, should be separated - limbs, leaves and shrubbery from any construction materials.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hopes to have all the debris cleaned up by Thanksgiving.
