City Workers Recognized for Hurricane Gustav Relief Efforts

Two crews, one from the City of Mobile Fire-Rescue Department and one from Urban Forestry were recognized for their contribution to Hurricane Gustav relief efforts in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Here's a breakdown of what was delivered:

5,000 bottles of water;
1,800 Meals Ready to Eat (MREs);
8 generators and;
55 tons of ice over three days

The crew from Urban Forestry Division cleared trees from more than 55 roads that were impassable.

Answering the call from Urban Forestry were Deputy Director Ron Jackson, Howard Carleton, Jeff Brown, and John Arnold. And from the Fire-Rescue Department were Cleve Brewer, Tom Gamble, Lamar Williams, Andre May, Raymond Thomas, and Richard McKeown.
