City Welcomes Newest Citizens

Mayor Sam Jones and the City of Mobile welcomed its
newest citizens on Tuesday, September 18 after a
successful annexation election. Residents in Mobile
Terrace, Cadillac Park and areas along Airport Blvd
and Schillinger Road voted to take advantage of the
many excellent city services that Mobile offers. The
victory marked the first major annexation for Mobile in
over 50 years.

"We're so happy that citizens in that area decided to
join us - and we look forward to improving their quality
of living," said Mayor Jones. "One of our biggest goals
was to give each neighborhood their own voice. I am
very happy in the fact that we were able to accomplish
that."

The citizens of the annexed areas will enjoy improved
public safety, free garbage and trash collection, zoning
improvements and much more. A map of the annexed
