City Officials to Get a Pie to the Face – For a Good Cause

It’s not everyday that a police chief has a pie thrown at him by one of his officers. Or that a city worker gets to take aim at the mayor’s chief of staff. But that is what will happen this Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Government Plaza with the City of Mobile’s Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

Several city officials including Chief of Staff Al Stokes, Police Chief Phillip Garrett and Fire Chief Steve Dean have graciously volunteered to be the targets of a pie throwing contest to benefit the American Heart Association's Mobile Heart Walk. City employees have donated $1 for a chance to throw the pies. Several department heads have said for a $10 donation, anyone can get a guaranteed shot at them.

The Mobile Heart Walk will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at the University of South Alabama.
