City of Mobile's First Supplier Diversity Program Awards Top Projects to Disadvantaged Businesses

Mayoral Action:
In 2015, Mayor Stimpson established the City of Mobile's first Supplier Diversity Program to help minority, women, service disabled veteran and disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE) overcome challenges that make it more difficult to win contracts and work on City projects. Since the program's inception, 111 DBE companies have been registered with the City as a vendor and are now included in the bid process when a project, commodity or service of the companies class is up for bid. Since 2016, the City has awarded top projects to 30 DBE's and created subcontracting opportunities for 14 DBE's totaling $3.6 million. These projects include:
