City of Mobile’s Computer Software Improves Tuscaloosa Accountability

Jun 4th, 2007

Mobile Mayor Sam Jones will travel to Tuscaloosa to unveil Tuscaloosa 311, which uses the groundbreaking I-React software designed by the City’s Mobile Information Technology (MIT) Department programmers. The I-React program is an innovative records management system that serves as a tool to monitor the efficiency of departmental services. The City of Mobile utilizes I-React in its Mobile 311 and Mobile CitiSmart services.

“Mobile’s Information Technology Department is a trendsetter that is being admired by other cities around the country,” said Mayor Jones. “This venture shows the level of expertise that exists in the MIT department.”

The City of Tuscaloosa purchased the I-React software from the City of Mobile for $100,000. This is the first time the City of Mobile has sold this software to another entity.
