City of Mobile Vying to break Guinness World Record for Most Elves in One Place

Dec 7th, 2017

The 2017 Elfapalooza is Mobile's chance to break the Guinness World Record for most elves in one place.

On Friday, gates will open at 5:30 pm in Bienville Square and the final countdown will begin at 7:00 pm. To stay warm while you wait, you can perform Christmas karaoke in Bienville Square and shop for Christmas gifts during LODA ArtWalk.

To be included in the official count, all elves must come wearing a pointy hat, pointy ears and a combination of red and green. This year, the Travel Channel will be in town filming Elfapalooza to highlight unique holiday traditions around the South, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of history.

"It's time to free elf from the shelf," said Mayor Stimpson. "This is an opportunity to put Mobile on the map and celebrate together as a community. I encourage all elves to take a break from Santa’s workshop and come spread Christmas cheer in Bienville Square."

Following the official count, the elves will march down Dauphin Street. A free showing of the movie "Elf" will begin promptly after at 7:30 pm in Bienville Square.
