City of Mobile streamlines event applications, launches ‘all-in-one’ website
Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile has overhauled its Event Services Application process to simplify organizing events hosted at city facilities or that require public services.
Earlier today, the city officially launched a new website, www.cityofmobile.org/eventservices, as an all-in-one center for individuals and organizations planning events that require an Event Services Application. Among other examples, these types of events can include large gatherings on City of Mobile property or events that use city services like police, sanitation, or traffic engineering.
The Event Services Application process is necessary to make sure that city facilities are prepared to host your guests and that activities in our shared spaces are safe, organized, and thoughtfully planned.
In the past, organizers had to navigate multiple City of Mobile departments to get the information, approvals, and services needed for their activities. Over the last few months, our Event Services Department and Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) have collaborated with nearly a dozen city departments to streamline the process for submitting an Event Services Application.
“Mobilians are born to celebrate, and the best celebrations bring members of our community together. That’s why we appreciate all the countless individuals and organizations that host great events for our citizens and visitors to enjoy,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “Our staff has done an incredible job of simplifying the process of organizing events with our various departments. We’ve already received positive feedback from longtime users who helped us test these new tools and processes.”
As part of the new process, a comprehensive Event Services Guide and an online Event Planning and Application Tool are now available at cityofmobile.org/eventservices. No matter what activity organizers are planning to host, these tools will outline the process they need to follow and provide all the necessary information about city services, requirements and associated fees.
