City of Mobile Sanitation Services Resume Regular schedule this week
Mobile, Ala. – The City of Mobile’s Public Services Department has resumed its regular trash and garbage collection routes. Additional manpower will be used this week to collect additional household garbage that wasn’t picked up during last week’s winter storm.
There will be no designated makeup days for those who missed household garbage or roadside trash pickups last week. However, for the remainder of the week, the city will pick up oversized household garbage loads and allow residents to overfill their brown, city-issued garbage carts, even if the lid cannot be fully closed. While sanitation crews will pick up all bagged garbage, citizens are encouraged not to leave bags on the ground for an extended period.
"We understand that missing a week of garbage service is an inconvenience, but last week’s storm and roadway conditions prevented our crews from operating for three days out of a four-day service schedule,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “We appreciate your patience as our teams work to catch up and provide these sanitation services over the coming days."
