City of Mobile Restores Homes to Revitalize Neighborhoods

Sep 26th, 2018

Mobile, Ala.-- The City of Mobile is unveiling newly restored homes that will be available for purchase as part of the City's ongoing effort to revitalize neighborhoods. The refurbished homes will provide additional affordable housing in the Oakleigh neighborhood on George Street.

"Our goal is to proactively address blighted houses before they need to be demolished," said Mayor Stimpson. "Restoring these homes strengthens the entire street and is one of the critical steps to creating more vibrant neighborhoods."

Restore Mobile is administering an ADECA grant on the City's behalf to renovate the two houses. Both homes features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a stainless steel appliance package.

Anyone interested in purchasing one of these homes should contact Realtor Vernetta Greene at 251-450-1481 or vernetta.greene316@gmail.com". To be eligible, income requirements do apply and will be adjusted based on family size and gross income.
