City of Mobile Repairs 32 Homes

Jun 18th, 2018

The City of Mobile has helped 32 homeowners repair their homes through the Critical Repair Grant Program.

Repairs include roof, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning. The purpose of the program is to fight blight, solve potential life threatening issues and prevent problems for the neighborhood before they happen.

"Not only do these repairs help homeowners, but they help their neighbors too," said Mayor Stimpson. "This program addresses issues in the home before they escalate into issues for the rest of the street strengthening the neighborhood as a whole."

To apply for the program, participants are required to own and occupy their home as their primary residence, meet the income requirements and have a will that transfers property prior to work beginning. Additionally, they must provide proof of homeownership and proof of income.
