City of Mobile Now Offering Free Meals at Every Community Center
Jun 19th, 2017
Mobile, Ala. - In addition to providing job and recreational opportunities for young people, the City of Mobile is providing free meals for youth at every community center this summer. The City is teaming up with Feeding the Gulf Coast, schools, churches and organizations to provide free meals at alternate locations as well. Many children when they are out of school during summer months do not have access to free or reduced price breakfasts and lunches at school. Community Centers are also now offering organized sports, fitness training, nutrition classes, exercise and healthy snacks to ensure young people are meeting their health and nutrition needs.
"We are promoting healthy lifestyles for our youth to empower them to succeed in life," said Mayor Stimpson. "We must provide our most vulnerable youth access to health and nutrition including free meals and exercise."
