City of Mobile Awarded $40,000 Education Grant

Mayor Sam Jones presented the Mobile County Public School System with a check for $40,000 as part of the Mayor's High School Reform Planning Grant. Mobile is one of only two cities to be awarded the grant, with Nashville, Tennessee being the other.

The planning grant awards are made available through a grant to the U.S. Conference of Mayors from the Carnegie Corportation of New York. Members of the Carnegie Corporation noted Mayor Jones' comprehensive commitment to education.
