City of Mobile Applies for ESG Funds

CITY OF MOBILE

The City of Mobile intends to apply for FY 2011 Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). The City will be accepting applications from shelters wishing to apply for funding. ADECA has established a grant ceiling of $200,000 per award, however, the State may negotiate with applicants to utilize all current funds that are available to be reallocated by the State.

Applications are currently available on ADECA’s website or can be mailed, faxed or emailed by calling the City’s Community Planning and Development (CPD) Department at 251-208-7134. Alternately, an application may be obtained at the Department’s office on the 5th floor of the South Tower of Government Plaza, 250 Government Street. All completed applications must be returned to the CPD Department no later than 4 p.m. April 1, 2011. For more information, please call Melissa Thomas at 208-7134.
