City of Mobile announces open positions for Innovation Team

MOBILE, Ala. - The City of Mobile is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the innovation team (i-team) to develop cutting edge solutions addressing neighborhood revitalization and economic development.

The following positions are open: Innovation Team Executive Director, Senior Project Manager and Analyst.

The City of Mobile was one of 14 cities selected to participate in Bloomberg Philanthropies' Innovation Teams program.The Mobile i-team will also be an active participant in an exclusive learning network of cities implementing the Innovation Delivery approach.

They will function as in-house innovation consultants moving from one mayoral priority to the next. Initially, the i-team will be charged with developing innovation solutions to foster neighborhood revitalization in targeted areas of the City.

"I am looking for outstanding candidates with the experience and willingness to tackle bold challenges and create positive change within a short time frame," said Mayor Stimpson. "Ideal candidates will possess the passion for making Mobile the safest, most business and family-friendly city in America by 2020."

The i-team will report directly to the mayor and support existing staff to assess problems, generate responsive interventions, develop partnerships and deliver measurable results.

"I want to improve the quality of life for citizens of Mobile and create thriving neighborhoods where citizens can live work and play," said Stimpson. "The role of the i-team is critical to the success of our neighborhoods."
