City of Mobile announces Grand Opening of Riverside Ice

Nov 2nd, 2016

MOBILE, Ala. - Mayor Sandy Stimpson today announced that the grand opening of Riverside Ice will be on November 19. This rink will kick off the holiday season with a lineup of jubilant and festive activities for all ages.

"Riverside Ice will be bigger and better than ever," said Mayor Stimpson. "There is no better place to skate than on the waterfront of Mobile, Alabama with our beautiful skyline as a backdrop. The holiday season is an important time for our community to come together, and this is one way we can all celebrate."

The City of Mobile will be providing ice skating lessons at Riverside Ice this holiday season for both the young and the young at heart. Children can learn to ice skate every Saturday and adults can learn every Sunday from November 14 through January 10. Each class will cost $15. Private lessons will also be offered for the cost of $20 for 20 minutes and $30 for 30 minutes. This year, there will be a special guest appearance on the rink. Santa Claus will fly down from the North Pole to Riverside Ice on November 26.

The rink will be open 7 days a week operating from 11 am to 10 pm on Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday and 12 pm to 8 pm on Sunday. Riverside Ice will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and will close early on Christmas Eve at 4 pm. The final day to skate will be January 14. Admission for skating will be $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. This includes the cost of skate rentals. For more information, visit www.RiversideIce.com.
