City of Mobile Amnesty Program Results

Aug 7th, 2007

The City of Mobile Amnesty Program ended on Friday, August 3, 2007 with around $450,000 in collections and hundreds of cases cleared from Municipal Court. The Amnesty Period allowed defendants with active warrants for unpaid fines a chance to pay the fines and have the warrants removed.

The City of Mobile will hold special court dates on Wednesday August 15, Thursday 16 and Wednesday August 22 and Thursday August 23 to allow offenders who were unable to pay their outstanding fines an opportunity to make arrangements for payment. Municipal Court Presiding Judge Holmes Whiddon will hear the cases in the Ceremonial Courtroom on the Mezzanine Floor of Government Plaza’s South Tower. All warrants will still be active until payment arrangements have been made.

Wednesdays – Court time at 9:15 a.m. (defendants will have to be at the DA window on the 2nd floor between 8 and 9:15 a.m. to be put on the Dockets).

Thursdays – Court Time at 2:15 p.m. (defendants will have to be at the DA window on the 2nd floor between 1 and 2:15 p.m. to be put on the Dockets).
