City Leaders Break Ground at Senior Center Site

City of Mobile and Mobile County leaders broke ground on the state-of-the-art Mobile Regional Senior Community Center on Hillcrest Road. The 20,000 sq. ft. facility will meet the needs of a growing population in West Mobile. The center is also designed for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) designation as a hurricane shelter with provisions for medical needs patients and will be built to withstand Category 3 hurricane-force sustained winds.

Construction, being done by Ollinger Construction, Inc., should be complete within a year.
