City Crews Join Alabama Power and Others to Help Murphy High School

Mar 14th, 2013

The City of Mobile Urban Forestry Department, Alabama Power, Asplundh, RDA Services and Lewis Tree Service teamed up to help Murphy High School.
On Thursday, March 14, these partners removed two damaged trees at the campus and trimmed large hanging limbs from several other trees. The trees were damaged during the Christmas Day tornadoes.

“The City of Mobile takes great pride in the natural beauty that our trees provide,” said Mayor Sam Jones. “In teaming up with these great companies, our Urban Forestry department helps ensure that this beauty will continue to be a legacy for generations to come.”

“We are pleased to work with the city and our other tree trimming partners to help Murphy High School,” said Mike Saxon, Mobile Division Vice President for Alabama Power.

The City of Mobile partners with organizations to trim and plant trees in commemoration of Arbor Day. Although Arbor Day is not until April 26, the effort was moved up its activities in support of Murphy High School.
