City Council to Hold Meeting in America’s Oldest City Hall, Vote on Master Plan Contract

The Mobile City Council will hold its regular 10:30 a.m. meeting at the Museum of Mobile (111 South Royal Street) on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 as a tradition of holding one meeting there a year to maintain the title of America’s oldest city hall.At the meeting, the Council is scheduled to vote on a contract with EDSA, Inc. to develop a master plan for the downtown, midtown and waterfront areas called “A New Plan for Old Mobile.” The plan will cover all aspects of living, visiting, and working in those areas.
