Change of Location for City of Mobile's Fourth of July Celebration

Mobile, Ala. -- The City of Mobile is relocating its Fourth of July Celebration to Cooper Riverside Park due to the poor conditions of the fields at Battleship Memorial Park following the continuous heavy rains. Based on the current forecast, the fields will not be dry enough for parking based on the amount of vehicular traffic it can sustain.

Citizens are encouraged to come celebrate an evening of patriotic music, picnicking and fireworks on the Mobile River instead. The gates will open at 2 pm. The Mobile Pops concert will proceed at 7 pm and the fireworks celebration will follow at 9:00 pm. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets

Parking will be available in the Mobile Convention Center and the Mobile Civic Center.

"The City of Mobile will carry on its longstanding tradition of painting the sky red, white and blue on Independence Day," said Mayor Stimpson. "It's a representation of our City's unbroken patriotism and a symbol of our commitment to honoring those who have served and those who continue to protect our families and our freedom."
