Captain Bob Enstice Day

The City of Mobile will proclaim March 23, 2004 as Captain Bob Enstice Day in the city during the March 23 City Council meeting. Captain Bob was instrumental in forming the Mobile Steamboat Company, which brought the historic 1928 paddlewheel riverboat "Cotton Blossom" to the Mobile riverfront in 1999 as the first visible maritime attraction opening the Mobile River and Delta to thousands of guests annually.

Captain Bob Enstice died September 16, 2003. The City of Mobile shares the loss of Captain Bob and as a public expression of gratitude for his life, and for his efforts in Mobile, Mayor Mike Dow will make the proclamation.

Following the council meeting, Mayor Dow will unveil a plaque honoring Captain Bob Enstice at 2:00 p.m. at the waterfront dock of the Mobile Convention Center, next to the Cotton Blossom dock.
