CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Keep Mobile Beautiful is seeking nominations for the most beautiful business properties in town. Judges will review the nominations and select the winners who will be recognized at the upcoming Mayor's Awards on Thursday, April 8. Anyone may make a nomination.- Judges will use the following criteria for their selection:
- Preservation of existing trees
- Landscaping that exceeds the minimum requirements for new construction
- Ratio of green space to paved areas
- Provision of outdoor litter receptacles
- Appropriate signage
- Incorporation of natural areas for landscaping
- Use of plant material for screening parking areas, loading docks, dumpster areas, etc.
- Overall maintenance
Additional categories include neighborhood entrances, apartment complexes and the flower power award for exceptional floral display.
To nominate a business call Keep Mobile Beautiful at 208-6029 or fax to 208-6027. Give the name and address of the business. The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 15.
Business winners of the 2003 Mayor's Awards were: Billotti's Italian Cafe, Carrabba's Italian Grille, Home Tech Construction and Design, L.A. Subs, Mobile Gas, The Mobile Register and 3680 Airport Center.
