Breakfast with the Mayor Helps Owners Do Business

Mayor Sam Jones welcomed more than 100 small business owners for a Breakfast with the Mayor event at the Z-Technology Center at Hank Aaron Stadium. The event featured representatives from city departments that deal with small businesses as it pertains to business licenses, permitting, engineering and police and fire protection. The goal was to make doing business in Mobile as simple as possible.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of Mobile,” said Mayor Jones. “As Mayor, I am indebted to everyone who believes in the city’s vast economic development opportunities.”

Business owners who received licenses from October through December of last year attended this first event. This could become a quarterly event to keep lines of communication between city government and business owners open. Attendees also asked questions about city government.

The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and Hancock Bank of Alabama sponsored the breakfast.
