Black History Month

Jan 9th, 2001

In February, the Mobile Museum of Art is highlighting artworks of African and African-American artists. The featured works in the exhibits "People, Places and Wonderful Things" at Expo Hall and "Made in Mobile"
at the Dauphin Street gallery are part of the museum's permanent collection.

Printed gallery guides will assist visitors in locating the specific works and will give information about some of the artists and their art. In addition, museum visitors may enjoy new videos at both museum locations featuring African art and some popular African-American artists. The videos will be shown continuously throughout the month. The exhibits and video showings are free and open to the public during museum hours.
