19TH ANNUAL BAYFEST MUSIC FESTIVAL

(Mobile, Ala.) - BayFest 2013 will go down in the history books as one of the most challenging years thus far. Despite the uncertainty of Tropical Storm Karen over the weekend, Alabama’s Largest Music Festival was amazing, with thousands of festivalgoers at the event.

Though the event was scaled back with the cancelation of the local and regional stages, BayFest drew large crowds into downtown Mobile.

“We have faced many challenges, but thanks to countless volunteers and the festival’s many sponsors, we were able to keep this year’s event on track,” said Robert O. Bostwick, Jr., BayFest President and CEO. “The economic impact to the city, county and region is great, therefore we took every precaution to keep festivalgoers safe and also insure a positive return to the community.”

BayFest organizers said in an effort to make sure the talented performers who were scheduled to appear at the festival’s Gospel, Launching Pad, Jazz, Café and Children’s stages will be given first priority to perform at the event next year.

Attendance Numbers:
Until final ticket sales from the festival’s ticket outlets are turned in, BayFest organizers said final attendance numbers will not be available.

“We will hopefully have them soon, along with our 2013 economic impact study, which will include on-site survey information from Dr. Christopher Keshock and the University of South Alabama’s Sports and Leisure Service’s Department,” Bostwick said.

BayFest, Inc. would like to thank everyone for their support and patience. See you next year on Oct 3-5, 2014 in Downtown Mobile at Alabama’s Largest Music Festival!
