BayFest 2011 Tickets Go on Sale July 1

Jun 30th, 2011

It’s an announcement that everyone will love: Blake Shelton, Korn and Anthony Hamilton just joined the BayFest 2011 lineup along with Thompson Square, Drowning Pool, The Campaign 1984 and JT Hodge. Other confirmed acts include Toby Keith and Eric Church. “These entertainers are household names,” said Shana Jordan, BayFest Executive Director. “BayFest has a reputation for booking chart topping artists of all music genres and those that are considered “up-and-coming, this year is no exception.”

CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Blake Shelton has recently made music and news with his marriage to Miranda Lambert and his role on NBC’s music reality show, “The Voice.” Shelton won Vocal Event of the Year from the Academy of Country Music, and Collaborative Video of the Year with Trace Adkins from CMT. More country gold will hit the stage at BayFest 2011 with Thompson Square, CMT nominee for Duo of the Year. Thompson Square’s Shawna Thompson was born in Chatom, Alabama.

R&B and soul singer/songwriter Anthony Hamilton’s “So In Love” with Jill Scott has just hit the US R&B top ten. His performance with Al Green on “You’ve Got the Love I Need” won the 2009 Grammy award for traditional R&B vocal performance.

Metal sensation Korn has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide with hits like 2011 Grammy-nominee “Let the Guilt Go” and their most recent recording, Korn III: Remember Who You Are. Fans follow Korn because they keep the metal sharp, from spearheading the “nu metal” movement to their recent experiments in the newer “dubstep” genre. Friday night’s rock lineup will feature Korn along with Drowning Pool a group that rose to fame while playing along with Ozzy Osbourne during an Ozzfest tour. Their 2001 debut album, Sinner, was certified platinum within six weeks, and the video for its first single "Bodies" was widely used in “Call of Duty”. Drowning Pool is currently touring with their new self-titled album. Rounding out the latest list of entertainers is The Campaign 1984, a self described “dirty south” rock & roll band.
