Alabama law requires all school-age children to have an immunization certificate (blue card) prior to school entry. Immunization certificates for students attending the same school as the previous year should be on file with the school. Necessary vaccinations and certificates may be obtained through private physicians, community health centers, and the Mobile County Health Department. For a complete schedule of recommended childhood immunizations check out: www.cdc.gov/nip.

Remember to bring all previous immunization records, social security and Medicaid cards to the clinics. For more information, please call the Mobile County Health Department, Immunization Clinic at 690-8821.

Note: The national shortage of vaccines no longer exists! All students need to have up-to-date Blue Cards before starting the August – September 2004 school year.
