Archaeologist to Share Details of Items Found in Spring Hill Dig

MOBILE, Ala. - University of South Alabama archaeologist Bonnie Gums will present a talk entitled "Archaeology at Spring Hill College: Campus Life in the 19th Century" on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 7-8 p.m. at Stewartfield. She will discuss archaeological discoveries on campus including details of a cellar and privy pit filled with artifacts from the late 1800s, excavated in the 2002 dig where the new College library is being built. She will also bring artifacts for show and discussion. The presentation is co-sponsored by the USA Center for Archaeological Studies and Spring Hill College.
