AfricaTown, USA to Honor Mayor Jones

The AfricaTown, USA Community Mobilization Project, Inc. proudly pays special tribute to Mobile Mayor Sam Jones for Community Service with the AfricaTown, USA Welcome Center. This recognition is being awarded to Mayor Jones for leading the initiative in securing the land that now houses the AfricaTown Welcome Center.

The land was donated by Mr. & Mrs. John Lacey of Buckman & Lacey Real Estate but AfricaTown, USA appreciates the involvement of Mayor Jones and his assistance in solidifying the transaction.

Join us at the unveiling ceremony of the Legends of AfricaTown where Mayor Jones will be officially honored. The event is April 28, 2007 at the AfricaTown Welcome Center Heritage Grounds (1959 Cutoff Road).
