2008-2009 Action Plan Amendment Notice

The City of Mobile is proposing to amend its 2008-2009 Action Plan to include activities eligible for assistance under the Department of Housing and Urban Developmentā€™s Homelessness Prevention Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP). A total of $1,186,394 has been made available for activities that provide financial assistance and services to prevent households from becoming homeless and help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized. Eligible activities include: financial assistance, housing relocation and stabilization services, data collection and evaluation, and administrative costs.

The outcome of the amendment is to establish a budget for these activities to be conducted by agencies presently providing services to the homeless or near homeless.

A copy of the amendment can be viewed at the offices of the Mobile Housing Board at 151 S. Claiborne Street, Mobile, Alabama 36602 between the hours of 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.

The comment period will run for 12 days minimum starting on Monday, April 27, 2009 and run through May 8, 2009. All comments will be forwarded to the Mobile City Council for their consideration.

The Council will conduct a public hearing on this Amendment at its regularly scheduled 10:30 A.M. meeting on May 12, 2009.
