Truck Causes Mess, Dumps Paper Pulp on Roadway

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (334) 208-5806/Fax: (334) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@ci.mobile.al.us TRUCK CAUSES MESS, DUMPS PAPER PULP ON ROADWAY A truck carrying a trash disposal container with approximately 1 1/2 tons of finely grated paper pulp on Tanner Williams Road Monday, November 6, 2000, spilled it's contents on the roadway. The spill occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. near Big Creek Lake. Traffic was blocked for approximately one hour and then one lane was opened while Mobile County Road crews cleaned the spill. The paper pulp is not hazardous nor does it pose an environmental hazard. It does not appear to have gotten into Big Creek Lake. No injuries were reported. Mobile Fire-Rescue, Tanner Williams Volunteer Fire Department and Mobile County Sheriffs Department responded to the call. ###
