3:12 p.m. — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department firefighters were dispatched at about 12:15 p.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 5400 block of Spring Drive in Mobile, Alabama, Thursday afternoon, March 6, 2025.
Units advised smoke was visible on approach. Upon arrival, smoke and fire was seen coming from the rear side of a single-story brick veneer home’s rear carport and patio area. A vehicle was also burning near the corner.
Crews made entry into the residence to extinguish the fire and to search for any victims trapped inside. Paramedics tended to the home’s two residents who had already evacuated, along with a young grandson who was visiting. A male was treated by paramedics on scene and transported by MFRD ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Once the fire was controlled, the on-duty investigator collected information from the scene of the fire. The fire remains under investigation at this time.
