SECOND ROUND OF FIRE-RESCUE PROMOTIONS
The second round of promotions within the ranks of Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will take place in a ceremony on Friday, March 30, 2007 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Mobile Civic Center.
Four Fire Captains will be elevated to the rank of District Chief and eleven firefighters will be promoted to the rank of Captain. The promotions become effective on Saturday, March 31, 2007.
Those being promoted to District Chief are:
Melvin R. Stringfellow, 46, a 21 year veteran and has been a Captain for over 13 years.
Robert P. Thornton, 53, a 29 year veteran and has been a Captain for over 17 years.
Myron King, 48, a 17 year Veteran and has been a Captain for over 5 years.
Those being promoted to Captain are:
