The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department proudly recognizes Fire Service Driver Paula Trimmier as the Firefighter of the Month for December 2022. Trimmier began her career in fire service in October of 1995 and promoted to the rank of Driver in June 2009. Driver Trimmier is currently assigned to Engine 6 on 1st shift, servicing West Mobile.
For several years, Driver Trimmier has represented the best of the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department family - expressing compassion with patients on medical responses, mentoring inexperienced firefighters, sharing wisdom and competence where needed, and more. Every Holiday Season, Driver Trimmier volunteers to aid the Mulherin Home with providing a magical Christmas to its residents.
The Mulherin Home is a non-profit facility that resides 30 special-needs adults with varying degrees of challenges. Acting as a liaison for the fire department since 2005, she helps to coordinate shopping sprees for residents, gift-wrapping events, and other special moments leading up to Christmas Day.
The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department and our families have become very attached to these residents, cherishing the time that we share with them each Christmas.
Though she is a firefighter for the City of Mobile and does her job well, there is no official title, mandate, or requirement for the energy she devotes to taking care of others. Whether she is in uniform or civilian clothing, Driver Trimmier selflessly gives to others out of genuine compassion, a giving spirit, and a servant’s heart.
