The house was occupied by three generations, a woman along with her daughter and grandson.
Engine 16, Engine 19, Engine 23, Engine 9, Rescue 24, Truck 24, Car 80, Rehab 1 and Districts 1 and 2 responded to the incident.
Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 7:49 a.m. for report of a residential fire in the 1700 block of Parkway Drive in Mobile, Alabama, Monday, July 22, 2024.
Units arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke showing from the side of a single story, wood frame residence.
Firefighters entered the home and extinguished the fire and protected an adjacent home from burning. Crews did primary and secondary searches. No people were found, but a pet dog dog was brought out. Paramedics attempted to revive the animal but were unsuccessful. A pet cat and another dog have not been located.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries to personnel were reported.
