Two Vehicle Accident I-65 Service Road

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT I-65 SERVICE ROAD Mobile Firefighters and Firemedics treated and transported six people from two vehicles in an accident this afternoon, February 1 on the I-65 service road at Armour Avenue and Georgia Pacific. The call was received at approximately 12:58 p.m. Apparently a small compact car occupied by a adult female driver, an adult male and 16-year-old male passengers, left I-65, came down the embankment, rolled over through a fence striking a full size pick-up truck traveling on the service road. The pick-up was occupied by a family of three; a father, mother and their small son. They received no apparent injuries but requested to go to the hospital to be checked out. They were transported to USAMC by private ambulance. The driver of the compact car had to be extricated from the vehicle. She had more serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was transported by MFRD Rescue 18 to USAMC. The two male passengers had minor injuries and were transported to Springhill Medical Center by MFRD Rescue 14. MPD is investigating the exact cause of the wreck. ###
