Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org TWO OVERNIGHT STRUCTURE FIRES Investigators with Mobile Fire-Rescue are investigating the cause of two overnight house fires that occurred Thursday, May 21. The first occurred on Pringle Drive at approximately 2:24 a.m. Firefighters arrived on scene to report smoke coming from the roof. Once inside they discovered fire in the kitchen area and were able to quickly extinguish it. The fire was caused by a water heater. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at approximately $10 thousand. The second fire occurred in a small, unoccupied structure located on Stockton Drive at approximately 3:35 a.m. Firefighters arrived to report that heavy fire was coming from the structure. No occupants were discovered during the search of the structure. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The structure was a total loss. ###
