At approximately 12:26 AM, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched to the area of St. Stephens Road at N. Lafayette Street for reports of a home on fire in the area. Upon arrival on scene, fire crews confirmed flames and smoke visible from a single-story, residential structure.
Crews entered the structure with charged hose lines, located the fire, and effectively fought back flames. No victims were discovered inside of the home, following a thorough search of the property.
All flames and hot-spots were successfully extinguished without any reported injuries. Fumes, smoke, and toxic gases were, also, adequately ventilated from the interior of the structure.
An investigation is ongoing to determine a cause of the incident.
