Overturned vehicle at Moffett Road exit

10:55 a.m. Hazmat 15 and Truck 10 remain on scene as cleanup for the incident is underway. The single-vehicle incident involved a 1,000-gallon sewer truck that rolled onto its side and spilled contents onto the roadway. The tank was reported to have only 400 gallons of water in its tank.

The driver was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital by MFRD paramedics with non life-threatening injuries.

Heavy Rescue 25 and Engine 12 initially used dirt from near the scene to dam and dike any runoff from the incident before it could reach waterways. They also used several bags of oil-dry on the wet road surface.

Truck 17 responded to the scene in Heavy Rescue 25 along with Rescue 12. Engine 12, District 3 Chief, Hazmat 15, and Truck 10 were also dispatched to the incident.


8:56 a.m. — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 8:43 a.m. for a report of a motor vehicle collision with an overturned vehicle at the Moffett Road exit off of I-65 North in Mobile, Alabama, Tuesday morning, February 4, 2025.

Crews are still on scene at this time.
