Mobile Firefighters to Fill-The-Boot for MDA

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MOBILE FIREFIGHTERS TO FILL -THE -BOOT FOR MDA Mobile Firefighters will be out in force joining other firefighters from all across the United States and Canada to "Fill-the-Boot" in an effort to collect donations for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association). The International Association of Firefighters has been a sponsor/partner with MDA for the past 50 years. The donations collected will be presented in conjunction with the Annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon that will take place September 4-5, 2005. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency — a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans. MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. Locations, Dates and Times of collections are as follows: Times: All times will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Locations: All Wal-Mart Locations in the City of Mobile and it's Public Safety Jurisdiction, the intersections of Dauphin Street and Springdale Road; Highway 90 and Halls Mill Road; Cottage Hill Road and University Blvd; Airport Blvd. and Schillingers Road. Dates: August 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27, September 2-3. ###
