Mobile, Ala. — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will be hosting Fridays at the Firehouse at select locations beginning this week from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on each Friday through Aug. 2. The open houses are hosted by the Community Risk Reduction Division.
The events are a chance to meet neighborhood firefighters, tour the stations and explore the fire engines, and learn fire safety. Families will also be invited to participate in firefighter activities.
“You probably always see a lot of activity at the station and maybe you’re curious about what goes on inside,” Jeff Haller, Public Information Officer said. “Fridays at the Firehouse events provide a great opportunity to peek behind the bay doors and see what the men and women of your fire department do on a day-to-day basis.”
The events are free to attend and will be held on Fridays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The first one kicks off at Lathan Station at 1951 S. Maryvale St. on July 12. The second one will be July 19 at Crichton Station at 200 Davenport Avenue. The third will be July 26 at Springhill Station at 700 Museum Drive. The fourth and final event will be August 2 at the Public Safety Complex at 8080 Airport Boulevard.
