Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Receives
New Ladder Truck
Mobile, AL – On Friday, August 24th, the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department took possession of its newest fleet acquisition – a Pierce Ascendant ladder truck. After some impressive monetary moves, the 107-foot ladder fire truck was purchased with funds from the fire department’s own financial budget, allowing for major short and long-term savings. Purchasing and outfitting the ladder truck puts Mobile Fire-Rescue a full year ahead of schedule on an already aggressive fleet replacement plan.
Fire personnel will be learning, discussing, and training on the truck’s schematics, specifications, and details this week. The Ascendant ladder truck will replace the current Truck 27 and will be housed at Fire Station 26 (8080 Airport Boulevard) in West Mobile.
