MFRD PROMOTES TRENIER LEGACY
TO DEPUTY CHIEF
Mobile, AL - For generations, the family name Trenier has been synonymous with firefighting. A member of the Trenier family has concurrently belonged to the City of Mobile fire department for 200 years, even before Mobile had an official, paid department. Alex Trenier has continued his family's impressive lineage with his 31 year (and counting) career contribution to serving Mobile and its citizens, having served the last 14 years as a District Chief. On Tuesday, August 7th, Fire Chief Mark Sealy presented Chief Trenier to Mayor Sandy Stimpson and the Mobile City Council as the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department's newest Deputy Chief.
Standing alongside Deputy Chief Trenier was his wife, Donna, daughter, Jennifer, and son, John Michael, who continues the family legacy as a Mobile firefighter on Engine 12 at the new Crichton Station. When speaking of Chief Trenier's commitment to excellence and his family's service history, Fire Chief Sealy pridefully praised, "That is a legacy of commitment that we all strive to achieve." District 2 Councilman Manzie added, "We are proud of your legacy. We are proud of your history."
Deputy Chief Trenier will serve as Shift Commander in charge of all operations on the Department's 3rd shift, while his son continues to have big shoes to fill in a budding career of his own.
