Marshall Auto Painting and Collision Fire Investigation Completed

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MARSHALL AUTO PAINTING AND COLLISION FIRE INVESTIGATION COMPLETED Fire investigators with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department have concluded their investigation into the cause of the fire at Marshall Auto Painting and Collision, located at 2869 Government Boulevard, which occurred on January 25. The fire was reported at approximately 10:54 p.m. and went to a 2nd alarm response. Investigators spent several days combing through the fire debris trying to find what caused the fire. The cause is being listed as “undetermined” due to the severity of damage left in the fires path. The fire caused heavy damage to the building, destroying the contents and causing an estimated $1.2 million in damage. The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) also provided assistance in the investigation. ###
