Mark E. Wilkerson Named May 2022 Firefighter of the Month

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department (MFRD) proudly announces Fire Service Driver Mark E. Wilkinson as the May 2022 Firefighter of the Month. Driver Wilkinson began his career with MFRD in October of 1996 and promoted to Fire Service Driver in November 2000.

Driver Wilkinson was nominated for Firefighter of the Month based on sustained commitment and dedication to his crew, partner, craft, and department. He has shown great willingness and ability to function in every aspect that is expected from a Senior FireMedic Driver on MFRD. He has continuously stepped up to set an example and standard to those around him and has acted as both a mentor and teacher to firefighters and paramedics who willing to learn.

Driver Wilkinson consistently presents himself professionally and sets a high standard for himself, while also paying close attention to detail in all of his daily tasks. He expects those around him to meet the standards set by MFRD, and is always willing play his part in helping his team reach and exceed these standards. He has proven to have the positive attitude necessary to perform and balance all of the roles necessary as the senior Medic Driver on Rescue 22.

Throughout his career, Driver Wilkinson has been the recipient of several awards and accolades, including EMS Life Saving Award, Service Recognition Award, and the Physical Fitness Ribbon.
