LATHAN FIRE STATION REOPENED Renovations have been completed on the Louis B. Lathan Fire Station located off Dauphin Island Parkway at 1951 South Maryvale Street. Crews have moved back into the station and it is fully operational. Lathan Station houses 1-engine, 1-ladder truck and 1-rescue truck. The station was renovated in 1976 and dedicated to honored memory of Firefighter Louis B. Lathan who died in the line of duty in 1971 after having the served the department for over 26 years. He was 49 at the time of his death. ###
