MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 17:52 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews were dispatched to the 400 block of Lexington Avenue for reports of a home on fire in the area. Upon arrival on scene, fire personnel confirmed smoke and flames visible from a single-story, wood-frame structure. Crews began their initial fire suppression attack while also searching the property for trapped civilians and/or pets.
Additional support personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 17:55. Search teams confirmed that the structure was clear of any occupants. Fire suppression teams were able to quickly locate and safely extinguish all signs of flames. Crews successfully ventilated toxic smoke and gases from the interior of the home. At approximately 18:13 hours, an “all clear” was provided, indicating that the fire was extinguished and the property was free of individuals.
No injuries were sustained during the event. Fire Investigators continue to investigate in order to determine what caused the incident.xx
